Red Over and Over

I would say nail polish posts are going to hold a special place on this blog, and that's because nail polish holds a special place in my life. No literally, there is a corner of my room dedicated to nail polishes. Let's keep that between us, though.

One of my New Year's resolutions this year is to always have my nails painted. I know what y'all are thinking, "This girl goes hard core...in the paint." Why yes, yes I do! I will most likely list my other resolutions in a post, but for now we are talking polish.

Everyone in my life knows I love nail polish and that theory was proven fact this year on my birthday and Christmas. I got polish from my sisters, friends, cousins, and even my sister's boyfriend. So apparently, this was a sign to make a resolution to actually use the polish that I own and not just admire it from afar. Hence the New Year's resolution.

Without further ado, my very first nail polish post of 2014!

For how I went about painting my nails, definitely refer back to one of my previous posts about my nail polishing process that I use every time I paint my nails. You can find that by clicking ---> here

As far as the polish goes, I used Revlon's new line of scented polish in the shade China Flower and have had it on for three days now and without a chip so far. This was a gift so I didn't choose this polish myself, but I really do love the shade! It's a red with orange undertones. The polish goes on really smooth and dries quickly. As far as the scent goes... I am not exactly thrilled with it. At first I would describe it as smelling like wood chips (seriously), but as I wore it longer and longer it was reminiscent of the smell of that powdery concoction janitors would put on vomit/puke to clean it up back in elementary and middle school. Sorry for the graphic details and trip down memory lane, but I would want to know this detail if I was interested in buying it! If that's what china flower is supposed to smell like then...hmmm, I don't want any boy buying me china flowers any time soon. All disturbing images and jokes aside, the scent fades after a day or two. Also, don't let this one shade  and scent in particular deter you from buying other shades from the line. I own Wintermint as well and it smells just like peppermint!
